Overview

The IPC4MH project is organized into seven interconnected Work Packages (WPs) that span coordination, co-design, technology development, implementation, evaluation, and dissemination.
Each WP contributes unique expertise and deliverables, ensuring scientific rigor, ethical compliance, and technological innovation.

WP1 — Project Management

Overview

WP1 ensures overall coordination, timely completion of project activities, and consistent communication across all partners. It includes project monitoring, ethics management, and FAIR data management aligned with GDPR and Horizon Europe standards.

WP2 — Co-creation and Design

Overview

WP2 focuses on the co-creation and participatory design of several Immersive Prevention Centers (IPCs) that will later be implemented and evaluated.
It emphasizes human-centred, ethnographic, and co-design methodologies involving practitioners, researchers, industrial partners, and patients, ensuring that the envisioned prevention centers are grounded in both user needs and technological feasibility.

WP3 — Core Technology

Overview

WP3 focuses on defining the technological foundation and architectural framework required to implement both the junior and senior Immersive Prevention Centers (IPCs).
It determines the components, technologies, and data infrastructures needed to create interoperable, scalable, and ethically compliant virtual prevention environments within the Metaverse.

WP4 — Implementation of IPCs

Overview

WP4 is dedicated to the implementation and iterative development of three fully functional Immersive Prevention Centers (IPCs):
two designed for junior populations and one for senior users.
These centers will be built upon the core technologies defined in WP3, integrating adapted VR/MR exercises from SME partners, and following the scenarios and design principles established in WP2.
The resulting prototypes will undergo iterative testing and refinement to achieve sufficient quality for the evaluation phases in WP5 and WP6.

WP5 — Evaluation (Junior)

Overview

WP5 focuses on the evaluation of Immersive Prevention Centers (IPCs) designed for adolescents with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs).
It parallels WP6, which targets older adults with neurodegenerative conditions, but adapts the methodology and evaluation focus to the developmental and psychosocial characteristics of younger participants.
Through interdisciplinary collaboration, WP5 aims to assess the usability, feasibility, and efficacy of IPC-based interventions for adolescent populations in Switzerland and Poland.

WP6 — Evaluation (Senior)

Overview

WP6 focuses on the evaluation of the Immersive Prevention Center (IPC) designed for senior patients with neurodegenerative impairments, assessing both patient and practitioner perspectives.
The work package investigates multiple dimensions—usability, acceptance, efficacy, and technical feasibility—to determine the real-world impact of IPC-based interventions on older populations.

WP7 — Dissemination, Exploitation, and Communication

Overview

WP7 ensures that the project’s results, tools, and methodologies achieve visibility, sustainability, and real-world adoption.
It covers four main pillars:
(1) project promotion and public communication,
(2) integration of IPCs into health systems,
(3) development of sustainable business models, and
(4) scientific dissemination through peer-reviewed publications and international conferences.
